2 Male 3 Female

In 1930s Virginia, "feeble-minded" Joyce is sterilized as part of a eugenics program

But when an abandoned baby with Down syndrome she names Lemonade comes to live in her institution, she decides to adopt her, becoming a mother after all

Years later - when Lemonade wants to get pregnant - Joyce defends her right to have a child

Inspired by the true history of eugenics in Virginia, Three Generations of Imbeciles celebrates the determination of two women to defy their fate and have children
