Sila is the youngest son of the Tsar. When his older brothers want to go and make a name for themselves, Sila can't help but want to go as well

On his adventure, he encounters a strange magician, Ivashka, who leads him to the castle of Princess Truda

She is entertaining suitors, but she is not new to marriage

Her husbands keep disappearing for reasons unbeknownst to Truda herself

Sila unwittingly takes the challenge to be the husband who stays, but he can only accomplish this with the help of his new friend and a spark of life from an ancient spell
