The desires of five women collide with reality in this play about resilience and love

Meg Sheridan, a writer who does translations on the side to supplement her income is asked to translate adoption papers concerning a Guatemalan child

The boy's mother, Maria Camino, is alive

Doing the translations, Meg becomes convinced this adoption is unethical and tries to persuade the prospective adoptive parent, Beth Thomas, not to go through with it

During this same time, Meg is grieving the loss of her sister Celia. She is also caring for her aging mother Diedre

Dos Madres received a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award in Playwriting
