Cooking with Elvis is a bizarre Orton-like domestic farce - Mam and Jill live together in an uneasy calm. Jill is overweight and cooks one exotic dish after another. Stroke-victim Dad is stuck in a wheel chair and can neither speak nor move, but he can hear and in a series of fantasy scenes this one-time famous Elvis impersonator steps out of his wheel-chair to give give new life to some of the King's most famous hits
But then Mam brings in a new young lover
The volume also includes Bollocks!, Hall's contemporary version of the Expressionist German playwright Ernst Toller's Hinkemann, which he sets in Tyneside
