Energetic, vivacious and excited about art, Katie resembles the artist Hudson was before Laura's accident

As his bond with Katie grows, Laura becomes jealous, and Hudson - wracked with guilt - is afraid she might disappear forever

In the end, Hudson must choose between reality and the world he has created in his mind
