A Bolt From The Blue

2 Male 1 Female
David Tristram brings his trademark hilarity to every page, but with a poignant and unusual story that tingles every nerve ending before reaching its extraordinary conclusion ...
Edward Jones was just an ordinary man, doing ordinary things
Until the day before his 40th birthday
What happened next was, quite literally, incredible
It defies belief
It defies logic.
It defies the fundamental laws of science and nature
But it happened ...
A Bolt From The Blue offers unlimited flexibility for casting
It can be produced with as few as three actors, or with as many as you can muster, dependent on your company’s strengths
In its purest form, you’ll need just two males and one female, but if you go this route make sure to cast your three most experienced and competent performers, because all three roles are extremely demanding
In the minimalist version one actor plays the central character of Edward Jones, while the other two play a male narrator, a female narrator, plus every other character in the story
However, if you think it would be better to spread the load and involve more people, you have the option to replace any number of the other character parts with separate actors, and of course any amount of doubling within that is acceptable
"A Bolt From The Blue" is both brilliantly constructed and extremely funny" ~ Chris Jaeger, Chairman, Guild of Drama Adjudicators
